We now present from Monogram's East Side Kids series, "Mr. Muggs Rides Again." This 1944 pictures stars Leo Gorcey and The East Side Kids (Huntz Hall, Billy Benedict). Harvey H. Gates wrote the original story and screenplay. This film, produced on behalf of Banner Productions by Sam Katzman and Jack Dietz and directed by Wallace Fox.
Time for more Eagle-Lion film noir as we present "Port of New York." This movie, shot in semidocumentary style, stars Scott Brady, Richard Rober, K.T. Stevens, and Yul Brynner (who still had hair on his noggin; this marks Yul's big-screen debut). Screenplay by Eugene Ling with additional dialogue by Leo Townsend; suggested by a story by Arthur A. Ross and Bert Murray. Photographed by George E. Diskant, A.S.C. A Contemporary production, this 1949 film was produced by Aubrey Schenck and directed by Lazlo Benedek. This looks like a TV syndication print.
Time for a 1933 Majestic Pictures Western, with Jack Hoxie starring in "Trouble Busters." The Trouble Busters come to the need of a crotchety old man and his daughter when a local gang plan to steal their rich land. Also in the cast were Lane Chandler, Kaye Edwards, Harry Todd, and Ben Corbett. Story and dialogue by Oliver Drake. Produced by Henry L. Goldstone and directed by Lewis D. Collins. A Western Star production.
