Range Busters | Trail Riders (1942) [Western]

From Monogram Pictures in 1942, we present The Range Busters (John "Dusty" King, David Sharpe, and Max "Alibi" Terhune--along with his sidekick Elmer) starring in "Trail Riders." In this one,  the sheriff of Gila Springs is murdered by a gunmen, leaving the town wide open for many corruptions. Three traveling cowboys known as the "Range Busters" ride into the town to clean things up. This film co-stars Evelyn Finley, Forrest Taylor, Charles King, and Kermit Maynard. A George W. Weeks production. With William L. Nolte in charge of production and story by Francis Kavanaugh, this film was directed by Robert Emmett Tansey.

Irish Luck (1939) [Action] [Adventure] [Comedy]

From Monogram Pictures in 1939, we present Frankie Darro, Dick Purcell, and Lillian Elliot starring in "Irish Luck." This film co-stars Mantan Moreland. In this one,  Buzzy O'Brien is a bellhop in a hotel where a guest is murdered. The police blame Kitty Monahan and Buzzy succeeds in helping her escape and hides her at his home with his mother. Buzzy and his pal Jefferson manage to fumble their way to finding the real killer who was after the stolen bonds carried by the victim. Scott R. Dunlap was in charge of production. With screenplay by Mary McCarthy (based on Charles Molyneux Brown's novel Death Hops The Bells ), this motion picture was d irected by Howard Bretherton.

Lawrence Gray, Jack Muhall, Al (Fuzzy) St. John, and Forrest Taylor are also in the cast. In this one, a mysterious killer known as The Fiend uses an unusual bullet as his trademark for his murders. Adapted from Peter B. Kyne's The Great Mono Miracle by Al Martin, who wrote the screenplay. Directed by Robert Hill.

From PRC in 1942, we present Anna May Wong starring in "Lady From Chungking." Co-starring Harold Huber and Mae Clarke. In this one, after the Japanese invade China in WWII, a young woman leads a band of partisans against the occupying troops. Leon Fromkess was the executive in charge of production. Milton Raison and Sam Robins (who wrote the screenplay) composed the original story. This flick was produced by Alfred Stern and Arthur Alexander. Directed by William Nigh.

Time for another Monogram Pictures Western, this time from 1941. We present The Rough Riders (Buck Jones, Tim McCoy, Raymond Hatton) starring in "The Gunman From Bodie." Christine McIntyre, Dave O'Brien, Robert Frazer, and Charles King co-star. Jess Bowers wrote the original screenplay. Produced by Scott R. Dunlap and directed by Spencer Bennet.

Trail of the Silver Spurs (1941) THE RANGE BUSTERS

From Monogram Pictures in 1941, we present The Range Busters (Ray "Crash" Corrigan, John "Dusty" King, and Max "Alibi" Terhune---along with his sidekick Elmer) in "The Trail of the Silver Spurs." I. Stanford Jolley, Dorothy ("Refer Madess") Short, Milt Morante, George Chesebro, and Eddie Dean were also in the cast. In this one, the Range Busters investigate a gold robbery from the Denver Mint in a supposedly deserted Arizona ghost town, but they soon find they're not the only residents with a nose for gold. Elmer Clifton wrote the original story while Earl Snell composed the screen adaptation. This George W. Weeks production was directed by S. Roy Luby.

Time for Western action, pardners, as Walter Futter presents Hoot Gibson starring in "Cavalcade of the West." This picture co-stars Rex Lease and Marion Shilling. Norman Houston wrote the story and screenplay. This 1936 motion picture was directed by Harry Fraser. Made by the Futter Corporation and Wafilms, Inc. and distributed on a states rights basis by Diversion Pictures, Inc.
