The Inner Circle (1946) DETECTIVE




From Republic Pictures in 1946, we present "The Inner Circle."


In this one, a  private detective finds himself with a perfect new secretary. But after a notorious gossip columnist turns up murdered, she may prove too good to be true.


Adele Mara, Warren Douglas, William (Fred Mertz) Frawley, and Ricardo Cortez headline this cast, which includes TV's future Mrs. Olson herself, Virginia Christine.


Dorrell and Stewart McGowan's screenplay was based upon Leonard St. Clair and Lawrence Taylor's (NOT that one) suggested radio script.


With William J. O'Sullvan as associate producer, this film was directed by Phil Ford.

From Grand National Films in 1936, we present Tex Ritter starring in "Song of the Gringo." In this one, when Tex investigates a string of murders he ends up getting accused of the killings. Joan Woodbury, Fuzzy Knight, Monte Blue, and Forrest Taylor were also in the cast. Screenplay by John McCarthy, Robert Emmett, and Al Jennings; John and Robert also wrote the original story. This movie was produced by Edward F. Finney, supervised by Lindsley Parsons,  and directed by John McCarthy.
