The Big Show - Gene Autry (1936) / Full Movie




Time for a 1936 Republic Pictures Western as Gene Autry stars, with Smiley Burnette, in "The Big Show."


Gene and Smiley are joined in the cast by Kay Hughes, Sally Payne, William Newell, Max Terhune, Charles Judels, the Sons of the Pioneers(which included Roy Rogers), the Jones Boys, the Beverly Hill Billies, the Light Crust Doughboys, and Gene's horse, Champion.


This picture, with screenplay and original story by Dorrell McGowan and Stewart E. McGowan, and with  Armand Schaefer as associate producer, was produced by Nat Levine and directed by Mack V. Wright.
Filmed at Fair Park in Dallas, site of the 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition, amongst other locations.

From Grand National Films in 1936, we present Tex Ritter starring in "Song of the Gringo." In this one, when Tex investigates a string of murders he ends up getting accused of the killings. Joan Woodbury, Fuzzy Knight, Monte Blue, and Forrest Taylor were also in the cast. Screenplay by John McCarthy, Robert Emmett, and Al Jennings; John and Robert also wrote the original story. This movie was produced by Edward F. Finney, supervised by Lindsley Parsons,  and directed by John McCarthy.
